How Should India Deal with Pakistan

Indians tend to fluctuate between extremes when dealing with Pakistan. We must evolve a policy to deal with maturity with Pakistan. Like any other country Pakistan has her share of hawks and doves. May be more of former than latter.
However, we have to learn to deal with them being neighbors. We cannot go into war as it may not convert them into India lovers. I fear more of them will hate us. Remember Bangladesh?
We must protect our borders vigorously. Stop illegals entrants, control legal visitors. There is no need to open our borders, atleast not now and not in distant future. Let us not become emotional that they are like us. They hate us enough to be ready to send jehadis to kill us. Let us live in peace and let them have their life. We must remember Kargill, Parliament and Mumbai in our dealing with Pakistan.
Finally, let us give them something to work on. Do it behind close doors not through media. We should not make them defensive. We will probably react the same way if cornered. We may be certain of Pak army, ISI and extremist complicity, Pakistani’s may not see or want to see it that way. May be they are being forced to see what they see. Remember so many retractions. Mobilise world opinion to dismantle Pak army and ISI..

Attack on Mumbai

Put India under siege
a bunch of young jehadi
sailed into Mumbai,
taking a route via sea.
True to their mission
of random mayhem,
spared none, knowlingly,
young, old or disabled physically.
Lives lost in a callous manner,
some of innocent bystander,
others accomplished professionally.
What about internal security,
I mused, is it so easy,
sailing into Mumbai,
centre of finance,
seat of Indian navy.
Country with dreams
of becoming a superpower,
cannot control its own border
or stop marauding intruder!

My India

My India a superpower,

claimed by many.

Broken roads after heavy rain,

a clear testimony.

Go to bed hungry still countless many,

full granary empty stomach,

what an irony!

Subsidies for poor usurped by greedy,

crooked loot public money,

in the name of needy.

Some live life of luxory,

many barely survive,

contrast here very sharp,

where a billion people live.

Might here usually right,

justice slow painfully,

powerful get away,

almost effortlessly.

Opinion here comes easy,

solution very scarcely.

Oppurtunist hold hostage

society almost willy nilly..

Still love my India,

superpower or not,

practicing democracy,

despite all odds.

Not easy to manage India,

a land of such diversity,

languages change,

as does culture

with altering geography.

My India, a nation of young

full of vibrant energy,

moving forward to a bright future

despite glaring dichotomy.

India, like a banyan tree,

giving shelter to many,

attempting a common vision

amid huge diversity.

India Under Attack

This will pass, we thought

after every blast,

Delhi,Jaipur, Ahmedabad,

but did not act.

Came Mumbai attack,

we were shocked,

but not prepared.

Futile, pointing finger

at our neighbour, in

impotent rage and anger.

Meaningless endeavor,

enemy is not outside,

but within us.

Time to shake lethargy,

get into action

with new resolve and energy.

Take a pledge,

remain inviolate,

our border-

land, sea or air,

always at any cost.
