Omen #FFfAW

It was a bright and sunny autumn afternoon. Rohit was sitting under a banyan tree by the river. This secluded place, away from prying eyes, has been the favorite meeting point for Rohit and Shailaja, for the last few years.

Shailaja was aware that in this small town people talk. An independent girl like Shailaja, who rode around the town in her bicycle, was a hot topic of drawing room gossip and almost considered an anathema for society.

Have her parents not taught her anything?” ladies will murmur, “this is what happens when girls are given too much independence!

Rohit was waiting to see Shailaja. He had informed her in advance. But normally punctual Shailaja is nowhere to be seen. Rohit was feeling restless. He had important news to share and important proposition to make.

A dark cloud covered the bright sun – an omen for something sinister!

    1. Leaving some to reader’s imagination. I lacked some idea. May be she met with an accident. May be she was beaten up. May be she did not want to meet Rohit. Topic of a longer story.
